This course presents the elements and principles
involved in design and analysis of basic mechanical structures and mechanisms.
Mechanical elements such as gears, cams and bearings and fundamental
relationships between the forces and corresponding motion or deflection are
investigated through examples and experiments. This background can then be used
in the design, analysis and development of computer controlled machines such as
robotic devices. (3-0-2) Prerequisite: PHYS 120, MATH 310.
