Paul Kar Ming Ho  received the B.Eng. degree from U. of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada, in 1981 and the Ph.D degree from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, in 1985, both in Electrical Engineering. He joined the School of Engineering Sciences at Simon Fraser University in 1985 where he is currently a professor. In 1992, Paul spent a  sabbatical leave at Glenayre Electronics, Vancouver, BC, as a senior communication engineer. Further in 2000 and 2001, he was with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the National University of Singapore, as a Visiting Professor.

Professor Ho's research interests are in wireless communications theory, with emphasis on modulation, coding, equalization, diversity, space-time processing, and feedback strategies for MIMO. He has published a good number of refereed publications on these topics, has been a co-inventor of 4 US patents, and frequently serves on the TPCs of major international conferences.

Paul is associated with the RF/Microwave Mobile Communication Laboratory at SFU. Over the years, he enjoys fruitful collaborations with his SFU colleague Prof. James K Cavers, as well as with Prof. Pooi Yuen Kam of the National University of Singapore, Prof. Xianbin Wang of the University of Western Ontario, and Prof. Jae Hyung Kim of the Changwon National University of Korea.
