Policy on Computing Science Electives

Generally a 200 or higher level course in Computing Science (except CMPT 320) is eligible in this category. Courses that simply teach a programming language (almost all 100 level CMPT courses fall in this category) are excluded. This policy is effective from 98-3. Effective 99-1, students who have taken ENSC 427-4 may not subsequently take CMPT 371-3 as a computing elective. The restriction applies one way only. The other way is fine, i.e., if you take CMPT 371-3 before taking ENSC 427, you may still count it toward your computing elective. A main rationale is that ENSC 427 is a more quantitative/advanced course.

Policy on Engineering Science Electives

Only a 400 level (4 credit) Engineering Science course is normally eligible in this category.
