Francis Lui & Garson Ho The VBall Guys

We're in the middle of midterms, but the next Applied Sciences Volleyball Tournament is coming up on MARCH 15! Stay tuned for more details, but here are some rules to help you get started with forming teams:

  1. This is an Applied Science Tournament, so teams will be allowed a maximum of TWO non-Applied Science participants (including staff or faculty members).
  2. This is a co-ed tournament, so there must be a minimum of TWO players of each sex playing at all times.
  3. There must be a minimum of FIVE players on the court at all times.
  4. There will be two divisions, Competitive and Recreational _ teams will only play those teams that are in the same division as they are, and prizes will be awarded to the winning team in each division.
  5. The team fee is $35 per team, which is due, along with the team registration form, on March 8th, 1996. Team registration forms may be picked up from the volleyball tournament poster just outside the CSIL lab in the Applied Sciences Building. Late entries will be subject to space availability and a late penalty of $10. All fees go towards paying for the gym rental and buying prizes _ and if there's enough, a round of drinks for the winning team!
  6. If 2/3 of your team consists of Computing Science students, the CSSS will pay for the team fee. Engineering teams will be subsidized by the EUSS. Late penalties will NOT be covered by either the EUSS or the CSSS.
  7. Varsity Volleyball athletes are not permitted to participate in the tournament.

Prizes and other details will be announced shortly. If you have any other questions, send e-mail to Garson Ho (gho@sfu.ca) or to Francis Lui (flui@sfu.ca).
