Abstract

Talk will describe the waste water treatment using agriwaste since the global scenario of waste water management is very alarming considering the literature and data available from various studies by scientists, currently, highly developed countries treat nearly 70% of the generated waste water followed by underdeveloped (28%) and poor countries (8%). Waste water streams in India are heavily polluted with organic and inorganic toxicants such as antibiotics, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, herbicides, endocrine disruptor hormones etc which is leading dreadful situation. Conventional methods of waste water treatment are not providing the solutions to tackle the current situation. The utilization of agri waste to treat waste water and designing of customized filters based on specific application, has been identified as a need and will be discussed during the talk. Present research not only deals with waste water treatment but also the waste management.
