***************************************************************** KLUWER ACADEMIC PUBLISHERS ***************************************************************** CALL FOR PAPERS ANALOG INTEGRATED CIRCUITS AND SIGNAL PROCESSING Special Issue on ``DC OPERATING POINTS OF ELECTRICAL NETWORKS'' Finding dc operating points of a transistor circuit is one of the most important steps in circuit design. Only after a dc operat- ing point of a circuit is found, can a designer proceed with its steady-state and transient analysis. Thus, analysis and evalua- tion of dc operating points of electrical networks have interest- ed researchers and practitioners for decades. Substantial progress has been made during the past decade on a theory of dc operating points of electrical networks and, specif- ically, transistor circuits. Yet, many unsolved problems remain regarding the existence, uniqueness, and number of a circuit's operating points. Efficient techniques are sought for distin- guishing among those circuits having a unique operating point and those capable of possessing more than one, and for establishing the stability of operating points. Efficient and robust numerical methods such as parameter embedding, continuation, and homotopy for finding (all) operating points of a circuit are being designed and implemented in circuit simulators. This special is- sue of the Analog and Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing Journal is an excellent opportunity to report recent research findings and identify areas for future research. Topics of in- terest include, but are not limited to: * Theory of operating points of nonlinear systems * Theory of dc operating points of transistor circuits * Numerical methods for finding dc operating points * Circuit simulation and calculation of dc operating points * Applications to circuit design All manuscripts are subject to review.
