----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1999 International Symposium on Nonlinear Theory and its Applications (NOLTA'99) Hilton Waikoloa Village, Hawaii, U.S.A., November 28 - December 2, 1999 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- First Call for Papers The 1999 International Symposium on Nonlinear Theory and its Applications (NOLTA'99) will be held at Hilton Waikoloa Village, Waikoloa, Hawaii, U.S.A. on Nov. 28-Dec. 2, 1999. This symposium is the 10th in these series of annual international symposiums sponsored by the Research Society of Nonlinear Theory and its Applications, IEICE. The island of Hawaii is called the ``Big Island''. It is the biggest and youngest of all the Hawaiian islands. It is a land of dramatic contrasts with lofty mountains (Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa), active volcanoes (Kilauea), the Ka'u Desert, rain forests, and is also called the ``Orchid Island'' because of its many colorful orchids. The island grows sugar, coffee, cattle, and macadamia nuts. The island offers a variety of spectacular scenery from Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park to secluded beaches, to lush tropical jungles and gorgeous waterfalls, and to remote valleys where the Hawaiian kings used to live. The conference will be held on the Kailua-Kona side of the island home of many luxurious resorts with many activities including world class golf courses, scuba diving, and deep sea fishing. The conference is open to researchers from all over the world. Papers describing original work in all aspects of Nonlinear Theory and its Applications are invited. Possible topics include, but are not limited to : Chaos and Bifurcation Application of Chaos Controlling Chaos Synchronization Oscillation Chua's Circuits Neural Networks Cellular Neural Networks Chaotic Neural Networks Neuro Dynamics Modeling and Simulation Self-Validating Numerics Numerical Methods Optimization Evolutionary Computation Circuits and Systems Analog/Digital ICs Distributed Networks Power Systems Large-Scale Networks Complex Systems Learning and Memory Image and Signal Processing Prediction and Identification Communications Mobile Communications Multimedia Communications Fuzzy Fractals Control Optics Soliton Biocybernetics Economics Applied Mathematics Chemistry and Physics Organizer : - Research Society of Nonlinear Theory and its Applications, IEICE In cooperation with : - IEEE Neural Networks Council - International Neural Network Society - Asian Pacific Neural Network Assembly - IEEE CAS Technical Committee on Nonlinear Circuits and Systems - Technical Group on Nonlinear Problems, IEICE - Technical Group on Circuits and Systems, IEICE - Technical Group on Neuro Computing, IEICE - Technical Committee on Electronic Circuits, IEEJ and so on Prospective authors are invited to submit extended summaries (1000-2000 words) to : Prof. Kiyotaka Yamamura Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Faculty of Science and Engineering, Chuo University 1-13-27 Kasuga, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo 112-8551, JAPAN Fax : +81-3-3817-1847 E-mail : nolta99@hawk.ise.chuo-u.ac.jp Submissions via World Wide Web are strongly encouraged, following to the web page : http://hawk.ise.chuo-u.ac.jp/NOLTA/1999/submit.html If it is not possible to access to the page, please contact with the above E-mail address to obtain instructions for submissions via E-mail or hard-copy.
