This course concentrates on strenghtening students' digital systems design skills. This includes a review of hardware description languages and state machine concepts, as well as learning how to design: a datapath, its control system, and the appropriate testbed and testbenches for an application. We will also cover both the architecture and programming of common Field Programmable Devices. A significant laboratory comoponent will be used to reinforce the concepts introduced in lecture.
