ENSC 452/894 Advanced Digital System Design |
Reading Material
There is no formal textbook for this course. However, the
following references will support some of the lecture material.
-
High-Speed Digital System Design: A Handbook of Interconnect Theory and Design Practices, Hall, Hall and McCall, Wiley. Timing Analysis: Chapter 8 is most directly relevant to the lectures. Chapter 9 gets more into setting up spreadsheets to do the computations. (Available online via Books 24x7.com)
-
Digital Systems Engineering, Dally and Poulton, Cambridge. Clock Domains and Syncrhonization: Chapter 10. (At Bennett Library)
- Synthesis and Scripting Techniques for Designing Multi-Asynchronous Clock Designs, Clifford E. Cummings, SNUG-2001. (Clock Domains and Synchronization)
(pdf)
- FPGA-Based System Design, Wayne Wolf, Prentice Hall PTR.
In addition, the following references may be useful for both the labs
and the lectures:
I will post survey and research papers that might be interest (and not
easily obtained from the online library) here:
- Architecture of FPGAs and CPLDs: A Tutorial by Stephen Brown and Jonathan Rose (link)
