Pacific Northwest Environmental
Conference Treaty (Pee-NECT)

The end of February saw a brave group of SFU Engineers venture to Victoria to take part in the 1st Annual Pacific Northwest Environmental Conference Treaty or Pee-NECT as it is called. The University of Victoria envisioned and organized PNECT with the idea of bringing together BC and Washington engineering students to share in cheer and fine beer.

The highlights of the weekend event were the Leondardo de Vinci Exhibit, the Lighthouse Brewery tour (an excellent new brewery serving the island only), the Pub Crawl, the scavenger hunt, and especially the blueberry pancakes on Sunday morning at our billets' house.

Due to the short notice for the event, along with date changes, the University of Washington and UBC were unable to send delegations, but regardless Pee-NECT was a resounding success. Taking one for the team by shedding clothes when necessary, the SFU delegation truimphed in the Pub Crawl scavenger hunt demonstrating school spirit, team work and dedication, which we have come to not expect from Sphoo-vee-an engineers...particularly those cranky 5th years who bitch and complain about half filled Enscquire magazines and fail to write a single article — You know who you are!
