procedure - problems
There are a number of small problems that you may find in the virtual Pit. Most of these are either due to VRML itself or the browser's way of interpreting the code. Of course, these may vary with platform. Although collision detection is supported by VRML 2.0, you will find that, whilst walking backwards, this feature doesn't seem to work! I have managed to walk off the edge of the world as long as I am walking backwards. For objects that are immediately adjacent to each other, such as the bulletin boards and the walls, the object that should be concealed often shows through at certain places. My theory is that this occurs when the browser cannot determine which surface to show and thus displays one object in certain places and the other elsewhere. If you have any insight to these problems, feel free to e-mail. |
