WELCOME
Welcome to the website of the Biomechatronic Systems Laboratory (BSL) in the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering at Simon Fraser University. Biomechatronics is an emerging field that integrates the aspects of biology, mechanics, controls and electronics to develop devices and systems that interact with humans, with the aim of improving their health and the quality of life.

BSL was established in 2008 and has become an interdisciplinary research training platform with innovative approaches and a substantial critical mass of research personnel. Our current and past research interests include: (i) biomechatronics applied to novel biomedical technologies for life sciences, rehabilitation and medicine and (ii) mechatronics applied to next generation vehicular, robotic and space systems.

Our lab is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to generate transformative technological advances by using a combination of tools: analytical and numerical modeling, experimental verification, and product design/prototyping.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about this innovative lab.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Applications are invited from outstanding students for graduate research assistant positions (Master's and PhD), in addition to postdoctoral and undergraduate/co-op research positions. Please contact Dr. Park for more information.
