About LRV

The Laboratory for Robotic Vision (LRV) is a computational vision research laboratory, located in the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University. This laboratory was established in June 2007 by Parvaneh Saeedi. The mission of our group is to develop methodologies, tools and technologies for the design and implementation of 2D and 3D vision in combination with some elements of artificial intelligence.

The scientific orientation of our laboratory is based on image analysis and interpretation. In this context we have three main areas of developments:

  • Artificial Vision
  • Imaging including medical and aerial
  • Autonomous Navigations

LRV emphasizes on collaboration with researchers and practitioners from academia and industry. We see the collaboration with industry as an important advantage for an engineering lab like ours.
